Apse window - "The Light of the World"

August 2007

Design by Deb Lowe

5 x lights each @ 500mm x 2900mm

This window, for the curved apse of the school hall, was designed to appeal on many levels. Quoting from the clients' brief, 'We would like a window that you can stare into and it represent different things to different people'.

A golden sunburst radiates from the centre light, suggesting a cross. Each of the richly coloured lights flanking the centre represents different aspects of Creation. Hidden among glass painted textures are thirty nine different creatures and plants (and a human being, in the form of a child's handprint).
