Description: "The Tree of Life" symbolises paradise and eternal life in Christian religion. The Tree of Life stood at the centre of the world (the Garden of Eden), and Christ's Crucifixion is said to have happened at the centre of the world. Jesus says to those who persevere in faith "to him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the Tree of Life, which is the Paradise of God." Revelations 2:7. Trees have also been symbols for the cycle of life, death and resurrection in the fullness of the four seasons. Flourishing and flowering trees represent the positive values of life, hope, health and holiness; while a withering or dead tree suggests the negative values of diminishing powers and death.
