The design of this window reflects the context of the villages within the Cheshire countryside.
The window features symbols which have inspired Christian imagination throughout time, including the Tree of Life and the Fruits of the Spirit.
The dove hovers over the waters as a sign of the creative love of God. Sheep and fish (longstanding symbols of the Church) are playful and peaceful.
Journeying is a cloaked person, who at any one time could be a shepherd, pilgrim or our own self.
The whole represents our call to respond to God's creation as pilgrims committed to work with him to restore wholeness and healing in living with faith, hope and love.
This window has been gifted in memory of Christopher Banner by his wife, Hilary and his daughters Juliette, Fiona and Charlotte. It is based on a painting by their daughter Fiona, and was designed by R.W. Coomber
in association with Pendle Stained Glass from the text "Go in peace to love and serve the Lord".
