St James the Great, Wrightington 'Millennium Window'
St James the Great Church, Wrightington
"Millennium Window"
November 2000
Design by Roy Coomber
Each light: 460mm x 1220mm
This window combines traditional imagery and contemporary elements to commemorate the millennium. The church is set in lovely countryside, commanding views stretching from Southport to the Lake District. The central theme, the Nativity, is surrounded by finely drawn landscapes and well known buildings from the surrounding area. The famous Wrightington Hospital, the church and the 400 year old Heskin School are all represented.
