Radcliffe, St Andrew's Church
Title: ‘Hope Window’
Date: 2015
Design by: Deb Lowe
Size: 610mm wide x 1220mm
Description: Inspired by Mark 4:30–32, the window depicts the mustard seed grown into a great tree, offering shelter to birds of the air—including robin, blackbird, sparrow, bullfinch, blue tit, thrush, and wren—among yellow mustard flowers.
At its roots grow daisies (symbolising Christ’s innocence), lily of the valley (the Virgin Mary), clover (the Holy Trinity), and evergreen ivy (faithfulness and eternal life). Golden rays shine from the tree as a dove, symbolising the Holy Spirit, descends. A rainbow arches behind—signifying hope, reconciliation, and new beginnings—with an inscription at its base.
