Rathmell, Holy Trinity Church
Title: Trinity window - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Date: 1992
Design by: Roy W. Coomber
Size: 600mm wide x 3050mm
Description: At the top are the hands of God the Father, issuing from the clouds with three rays of light. Lower the dove, depicting the Holy Spirit. Below this the Son of God, represented by the lamb seated upon the book of Seven Seals, traditionally shown with the flag of victory. A red cross can be seen against a wavy blue/green background, alludes to the living water e.g. Baptism, changing water into wine, Christ walking on water; and is symbolic of the river Ribble, a local feature.
Also dates remembering the church's 150th Anniversary 1842-1992. A good reference to the theme of this window can be taken from John Chapter 3 verse 5 'Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.'
