Timperley, Holy Cross Church
Title: 'Holy Cross'
Date: 2009
Design by: Roy W. Coomber
Size of each rectangle: Approx. 450mm wide x 500mm
Description: The window represents the congregations of St Andrew and St Catherine, who came together to form Holy Cross church in 2001.
The living water in the design flows down like a waterfall. Upon this a cross in gold at the top centre with radiating lines in the lead-work. On the left are the symbol of St. Catherine, the wheel upon which she was tied and the flames of her martyrdom.
On the right are the symbols of St Andrew; a wooden cross, the means of his martyrdom, covered by a fishing net related to his profession. Images of two fish and five loaves remind us he took an active part in the feeding of the five thousand by introducing the young boy to Jesus.
